My experience traveling to Armenia with Alaska Airlines!

For all those people who are sitting at home, waiting to get fully vaccinated so that they can travel again, I have come bearing a piece of good news. Armenia has opened its doors for leisure travel and is accepting fully vaccinated travelers. This blog will cover my experience exploring this ancient country in its full bloom.

Armenia- the country with an old soul

Just like you, I was going through different websites to figure out which country should I visit first after I am declared fully vaccinated. One thing was sure, it had to be in Europe since I find it mysterious and exciting. I realized Armenia is the perfect choice for me. The country has an ancient vibe to it, like a young person with an old soul. Armenia has so much to offer in terms of ancient history, food, culture, and customs. Want to know the plus point? It is highly affordable and is safe for solo travelers.

Things to do and experience in Armenia

Did you know that Armenia was the first country in the world which declared Christianity as its national religion? King Tiridates III declared that Armenia will be a Christian country in 301 AD. The main religion of Armenia is the Armenian Apostolic Church. It was an honor to visit historical sites such as Mother See of Holy Etchmiatdzin church. It was wonderful to see how the country has tried to preserve its ancient cultural heritage.

The next stop was Mount Ararat. It is not just a tourist spot but holds great importance in Armenian heritage. The mountain does not come under the boundaries of the current republic of Armenia but that has not affected the way Armenians feel about Mount Ararat. It’s a great spot to give mountain climbing a try. Mount Aragats is another majestic mountain as well.

How can I skip the amazing food and wine culture in Armenia? I had the best wine of my life in Armenia. It’s not just my opinion, anyone who has ever been to Armenia says the same thing. Armenians are extremely fond of cooking and would find any excuse to set up a good old-fashioned barbecue coupled with epicurean Armenian wine.

I could experience all of this with ease because of the airlines I picked to fly to Armenia. For me, choosing an airline to fly with is a huge part of my journey. I do not want to sit uncomfortably throughout my flight and then land in a sour mood. It is important that you do your research before booking flights. A good airline is like a good friend.

How I made Alaska Airlines Reservations?

For someone who struggles with technology even after born in a technology era, the reservation process was a breeze. Let me take you through the entire process so you can make Alaska Airlines Reservations to travel to your dream destination as well.

Next, when you hover your cursor on “Airlines”, a drop-down menu will appear showing various options. In the first column select Flights.

You will be directed to the bookings page. Now very carefully navigate your way through the various options. First, select the kind of trip it is( Round-trip/One Way or Multi-city). I selected Round- trip. Now in the Cities & Dates Column, enter your origin and destination countries. I entered Seattle(United States) in origin and Armenia as the destination. You can choose the option of including nearby airports.

Next, enter the number of passengers that will be traveling. Since it was a solo trip for me, I entered 1 Adult and 0 Children. Enter your departing and Returning dates in the spaces provided.

Select the green box that says “Find Flights”. You will find all the flights that Alaska is operating on that particular route. Select the flight and make payments.

Make sure to double-check everything before you make payments. You will receive an e-mail confirming your Alaska Airlines Reservations.
