Are You Asking The Right Questions?

January 10, 2021

The political scenario of our country took curious and unpredictable turns in the last few years. When we were young, we hardly saw our parents discussing about politics. But today, it is a common topic of interest, equally among youngsters and elderly. Yes, it is good! Social media and news channels have probably brought it to the limelight. But this has also increased confusion and fear among all.
No. We won’t discuss about any political party or ideology. We want you to reflect on a few important questions to reflect on. Today, we feel happy to hear promises of free education, health services, food. But what is our priority? Is it free education or quality education for our kids? Do we want free treatment or proper health infrastructure that all can afford? Is it possible to run an institute free of cost? By accepting free food, health benefits, and education, we have killed a lot of possibilities.

Kids in villages are going to schools, but the priority is mid-day meals. A middle-class man sweats out day and night to earn a basic living for his family. He burns out all his savings in a single medical treatment. There is nationwide agitation among youngsters due to the lack of jobs. We may argue that there is a disparity in wealth distribution, though opportunities are open to all. Are we asking the right questions? We need a nation where all can get proper education, breathe fresh air, and be sustainable enough to support their daily needs.

The burning problems of our society have not changed. I think it’s time, we ask the right questions, and move a step forward unitedly towards our dream of true freedom in 2021. “If there is one place on the face of this Earth where all dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India.” — Romain Rolland.
