Essential Documents Required for TEC Certification

Mandatory Testing & Certification of Telecom Equipment is referred to as MTCTE. It is a testing programme that must be used by companies that want to produce and import telecom equipment. Products would not be eligible to receive a TEC certificate if they did not pass the MTCTE.

To obtain TEC certification for your telecom equipment, you need to provide specific documents. These documents serve as evidence of compliance with the required standards and regulations. Let’s break down the essential documents needed for TEC certification:

You must provide documentation that verifies the legal address of your production facility. This can be in the form of a valid lease agreement, ownership documents, or any other legally recognized proof of address.

Include a copy of the factory license that is currently valid. This document should display the production facility’s address, as well as its range of services and the products manufactured.

Submit a copy of the trade registration certificate to demonstrate that your brand is legally registered. This certificate serves as proof of ownership and establishes your brand’s legitimacy.

If the applicant is not the trademark owner, an authority letter from the trademark owner is required. This letter grants permission to use the trademark for TEC certification purposes.

Provide detailed technical information about the product that requires TEC certification. This information should include:

- Samples, user guides, and any additional items necessary to demonstrate the product’s functionality.

- Product name, model number, and brand.

- List of essential safety components.

- Bill of Material (BoM), including PCB layout and circuit diagram for the product’s SMPS layout and mains power.

- Details of the Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) if the applicant is not Indian.

- Copy of the marking label.

- OEM support for product configuration, if needed for functional testing.

Include the details of the Know Your Customer (KYC) signatory for the AIR company. This ensures compliance with identity verification requirements.

If your product incorporates a cell or battery, provide additional details such as the UN 38.3 test report. This report verifies compliance with transportation regulations for hazardous materials, including batteries.

Include a certificate of ISO 9001 to demonstrate your commitment to quality management systems.

By ensuring you have all the necessary documentation, you can streamline the TEC certification process and expedite the evaluation of your telecom equipment. Remember to keep these documents updated and readily available to maintain compliance with TEC regulations.

TEC certification requires specific documents that serve as evidence of compliance with technical and safety standards. From proof of address and factory license to trademark authority letters and technical product information, these documents establish your eligibility for TEC certification. By organizing and providing accurate documentation, you can navigate the certification process more effectively and ensure the compliance of your telecom equipment.
